The Corrupted Kingdom Characters Empty Octavius Fyre

Post  Merolg Sat Oct 27, 2012 6:12 pm

Name: Octavius Fyre
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Height: 6' 1"
Powers/Abilities/Weapons: Can use all forms of magic to a degree, but has a definite mastery over the magics of fire & a "Firesteel" blade that was a gift from his mentor. Incredibly agile.
Bio: Grew up in the small village of Shayroc. While hunting in the nearby mountains he happened upon a man that was just lying there, cautiously he approached him and when he got about a foot away, the man moaned "Help...me...." Octavius could see that the man's bare arms were covered in scabs and opened wounds. Taking pity on the old man, Octavius carried him to the cave that he was taking refuge in while hunting. He spent a few days nursing the man to health, once the man was more-or-less healed, he discovered that this man was one of the Ancients, one of the original sorcerers and that Octavius had only prolonged the Ancient's suffering as he was going to die irregardless. But, the Ancient, seeing something in Octavius, decided to repay him for his kindness and taught him the art of magic in that very cave. Octavius quickly learned that he had a natural aptitude for magic and took to the lessons extremely quickly and he learned fast. A month to the day that Octavius had rescued the Ancient, the Ancient became so weak that he could barely rise up off of the moss-covered stone that was his bed. Concerned, Octavius ran to his side when called for. He could tell that the man's spirit was loosening itself from his body. As a final gift, the Ancient gave him the Firesteel blade that had become his weapon of choice and a strange scroll that the Ancient said would ONLY be able to be opened when "the Darkness comes again" and when it opened, the words written there were for his eyes, and his eyes only. The Ancient also gave him the coat that he had worn when Octavius had found him saying that the very threads of the coat would strive to defend him and act as a focal point for his magic. Octavius watched as the Ancient slowly passed onto the next life, tears flowed from him as he hugged the man who had become like a second father to him. Saddened, he returned to Shayroc with all that he had hunted, but was shocked to find that the entire village had been destroyed. Dropping his spoils, he ran into the village and found a piece of parchment describing the edict that had passed while he was away. His sadness transformed into pure rage when he discovered the camp of the soldiers that had destroyed his home, family and friends a little ways down the road, his rage reacted with the magic within him and he temporarily became like destruction incarnate. Not a single soldier survived his attack. Calming down and not knowing what to do, he gathered what he could from the ruins of the village (which was meager) and set off not knowing which way to go but forward. When he discovered that something had changed in the royal family, a feeling of apprehension instantly grew in his chest hiding away in a forest grove, he pulled out the scroll that the Ancient had given him, it then began to unroll itself. Fully open, he didn't get a chance to read it as it then began to dissolve into his skin, imbuing him and his mind with a part of an extremely powerful spell that immediately locked itself away within him until it was needed, as the magic told him that was the case. When he came to, he found himself surrounded by soldiers with one raising his spear above his head, obviously intent on killing him. He reacted immediately and slaughtered all of the soldiers but one using magic and the Firesteel blade that had escaped him, making him "Public Enemy Number One" and putting a massive price on his head, payable from the royal family themselves. He became known as the "Ghost of Fire" throughout the kingdom.
Personality: Quiet and humble. But he can be a bit of an ass when he wants to be and when it comes to taunting soldiers. Octavius is, however, a devout friend when you can actually get him to trust you.
Appearance:

Other: If he has to move fast, he can use a combination of fire and wind magic to propel himself to insane speeds, which earned him his nickname "Ghost of Fire" as he seems to be enshrouded in fire when he flies through the air. The ancient magic that was absorbed into him from the Scroll has an interesting effect on him when he gets either emotionally unstable or injured.

Name: Nivrithi Vidala
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Height: 5' 7"
Powers/Abilities/Weapons: Aftertouch on projectiles, minor frost magic, adept knifeplay
Bio: Raised in a rather unforgiving plot of land just outside the kingdom, Vidala found himself well-accustomed to the land compared to his two brothers, easily traversing the rough forested terrain and hardening himself to the cold winters. At the age of eight, he began to notice odd traits that he had been told belonged to a hermit somewhere in the forest. Barely considering these rumors his siblings were generating to be genuine, Nivrithi merely observed as he began to watch his crossbow bolts seeming to arc, moving as if the wind was blowing even when said wind blew in the opposite direction. Finally, at 16, he made his way deep into the forest, spending three days on the move in search of the hermit, eventually finding a small hut. Upon entering the hut, Vidala found himself at knifepoint by a hooded man of strange stature, the latter bearing slightly larger than normal feet as well as a slightly elongated head. After a brief explanation of who he was, Vidala was released from his death-hold, and the two began to converse. Having basically moved in with the man, Vidala began to pick up knifeplay skills as well as what the man called aftertouch, too young to question why the hooded man bore the same inborn magic as he did. All this time, the man would never say his name, asking Vidala to instead refer to him as Shade. Shade eventually gave Vidala a spellbook on ice magic for the boy's 17th birthday, which Vidala immediately began to practice. Shade and Vidala continued their practice, wherein Vidala began to learn more and more lethal ways of killing animals and people alike, not noticing that Shade was making each session more intense than the last. What happened on Vidala's 18th birthday both shocked and appalled the boy. According to Shade, he used to be known as Nivrithi, an assassin of old. Vidala could hardly believe the tales Shade spoke of, the man calling himself a Tallfellow halfling, telling tales of a land named Morish, tales of angels, demons, a beast called The Duratma, a friend named Azura, an elf named Togda, a 'deva' named Tala, a human named Sam, and a man of great descendence named Abel Nightroad. To make things more strange, Shade called Vidala his 'spiritual successor', hinting at a deeper connection and leaving Vidala with several unanswered questions. Shade led Vidala to the basement of the hut, leading him to a chest filled with black cloth almost exactly like Shades with just a few modifications as well as a knife, a crossbow, and some bolts. Shade then bestowed his old name of Nivrithi onto the boy, fading away and seemingly out of reality, whispering to Nivrithi to lead his life as if it belonged to the 'Tallfellow', once more leaving the boy with many unanswered questions. Since then, he has been doing just what Shade told him to, leading the life of an assassin in the hopes of finding out the answers to any of the questions Shade would not answer.
Personality: Cocky, arrogant, wisened by past events, skill-orientated, emotionally cold as well as highly stable emotional intensity, secretive, no sense of personal honour, manipulative, a trickster
Appearance: Wears all black cloth hiding an athletic build and pasty white skin that has hardly properly seen the light of day, lenses obscuring his light blue eyes, a knife and crossbow at his sides as well as a pack of bolts at his belt, clothing almost seems like light winter gear.

The Corrupted Kingdom Characters Empty Elwyn Dineris

Post  Xinjay Sun Oct 28, 2012 1:08 am

Name: Elwyn Dineris
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Height: 5'7"
Powers/Abilities/Weapons: Sorcery, a dagger, has exceptional combat skills.
Bio: Elwyn was raised in a village in one of the kingdoms bordering Ascetir. She was born with instinctual magic, which was said to be rare, for most magic users develope their magic at a later age, if at all. Because of this, her magic was unstable, and she often found herself unable and mostly unwilling to use it. One day her village was pillaged by slave traders, and her and a few others were sold to an organization thankfully not as slaves, but as recruits. They were theives, and smugglers, but also highly skilled, and Elwyn, being young and having no where else to turn, accepted her fate and quickly learned all they had to teach her. It was only after their band of thieves had started to actively be hunted down did Elwyn flee to Ascetir. She had not heard of the ban on magic yet, nor did it affect her. Yet.
Personality: She likes to put on a tough front, but if a situation is serious enough she will truly admit what she's feeling (though it's mostly fear that she hides). She has trouble admitting she was wrong or apologizing, but she still tries (she likes being right). Elwyn has questionable morals, but only because of the way she became when she was Theiving. She isn't known for sticking it through when the going gets tough, and often favours flight over fight.
Appearance: She has long wavy blond hair, blue eyes, and tight leather clothing. She has many pouches, a dagger attatched to her belt, leather bracers and leather shin guards. She uses the high collar of her shirt as a mask for her lower face, but it can easily be rolled down.
